HAIGH-FARR’S NEW LINE OF COTS SATELITTE ANTENNAS DELIVERS CUSTOMIZATION WITHOUT THE COST

08.12.25

Haigh-Farr, a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of antennas for aerospace applications, is proud to announce the launch of its new Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) line of satellite antennas. This innovative product line offers customers a faster, more cost-effective path to mission-ready, application-specific antenna solutions without additional design time and non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs.

Leveraging a portfolio of flight-proven designs, Haigh-Farr’s COTS antennas retain flight heritage and are engineered for agile, scalable manufacturing. This approach enables cost-effective production and competitive pricing, without compromising the impeccable quality and performance synonymous with the Haigh-Farr name.

Initial offerings include S-Band receive (Rx) and transmit (Tx) antennas, a GPS antenna, and associated test hats. P/N 57200-X is a wide bandwidth antenna covering all of S-Band Rx and Tx in a combined package, while P/Ns 57400-X (Rx) and 57500-X (Tx) offer the same S-Band Rx and Tx frequency range in two separate antennas. P/N 57600-X is designed to cover GPS/GNSS frequency bands L1 / E1 and L2 / L5 / E5. All part numbers are engineered to fit a 1U cubesat and include pre-engineered options for polarization, environments, and finishes. Associated test hats, which are used to verify RF performance directly on the vehicle, are available for each of these antennas as a COTS component.

“Our satellite customers have unique requirements, but they also need speed and affordability. This new COTS line bridges that gap, offering a streamlined path to customization,” said David Farr, President of Haigh-Farr.  “We’ve built our reputation on quality and performance in demanding aerospace environments. With this COTS line, we’re extending that legacy to a new generation of satellite missions that need proven, cost-effective solutions."
